Reading newspapers

Every morning before I go to work, I'll try to catch up with latest news by reading newspaper. However, there was one day. It was really different.
Why? My cat wants to read newspaper. Hmmph..

When I tried to the pull the paper away from him, yah.. (it's a male, female ones always make babies. very troublesome to take care..) . He looks the other way... Geram betul... So I just left him with his reading.
I think I only get to read the newspaper during lunch time in office. :(

Accidental meet-up with Boss Stewie

On sunday hor... I was in Low Yat plaza, I send my PC for warranty. (nia mah).. this the first time I met a problem that I can't with solve with my PC, more on that later. So, I also bought stuff liao mah.. taking the escalator down to have lunch.
Then hor, as I was going down, I saw someone si beh familiar wan loh... eh... that's..erm... who ar?
aiks?!.. BOSS STEWIE and SAMANTHA!!!!!!
so hor, I pick up my phone and quickly call him and ask him if he's in Low Yat orhh... He said he is..
So I asked him to wait some place then I go see him. Then..voila... I shooked his hand in front of C-Zone Low Yat. Then, I saw Samantha behind him loh... We talked a while then I left for lunch.

Then hor, supposedly we could've had lunch in the same place wan but Boss Stewie can't find the restaurant, so he had his lunch in Shikuya(correct spelling r?). Then after I had mine, I went to see him loh and talk some more and took a photo. The photo suck (not because of Boss Stewie, but because of my constipated look). Don't want to waste Boss Stewie time mah.. because he got event at 3pm, at that time 2.20pm something liao mah...

Finally, One more thing I noticed hor, thoroughout the whole conversation with Boss Stewie, Samantha so quiet most of the time loh. I wonder why ar?... very tired maybe?

P/S: The "pasar" english was intentional. :P

Rollercoaster ride....

It's been quite a week for me. Even though it's only thursday night. But, I felt like my whole week is almost finished. However, I learn t something about myself. I realized I seemed to be (most of the time) an emotionally detached person. That's why sometimes I can say things that hurt people's feelings yet I don't feel a thing. At the same time, I also learn that love is not as complicated as it seems. Someone made me realized that if both of you like each other, you will cherish and embrace each other's strength and also weaknesses no matter what. Thank you to that someone. I really really love you. :)

Today it was great fun too because we had steamboat dinner. I've been wanting to eat steamboat for quite some time now. Finally, my wish is fulfilled. Spending time with the company of colleagues was quite a good experience.Having dinner with the company of colleagues is great joy to me. Thank you everyone. I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!

fate is a strange "thing". It will not happen randomly but on a precise time. It will happen at the right time. Even though the person you might meet in the future could've been around you for some time already, but you two just didn't notice each other. That's fate. Sometimes, it is fate that we meet a certain person at certain time. We can't really question fate. For example, I might find a girl that I think she's interesting but she's attached. That is fate. I think some of readers have the same experience before ? It is fate that brought all of us together. Be it studying / working under one roof, knowing each other through studying, working is considered fate. So, appreciate the people around you.

Update: the yellow colored text was the suggested translation from Cely, which I think sounds better. Thank you!!!!

it's almost end of the month.

it's almost end of the month. I've been busy with work, with my life *wink* and everything else.
Everyday I came back tired, I almost have no time for my personal indulgence- video games because watching tv has taken up so much of my time.

:P

I used to be able complete 2 or games in a month. Now I'm still struggling in my Tomb Raider Anniversary game. Then, there is Transformers The Game.

well. I think all this needs a better management of time.

sigh...

My lovely k810i

Yeah. baby.. I'm back blogging again. The long absence from blogging was because of laziness, as usual.

Anyways, I was looking through Sony Ericsson's website, came across S500i
K810i, and K550i.

After checking through the specifications of each phone, I finally found 2 worthy successor for K810i, and K550i.(since I can't make up my mind, why not I buy both?!!, then I realized I'm not rich son of Donald Trump. :P)

In the end, I made the choice to purchase the K810i which costs me RM1.2k that comes a with measly 64MB M2 memory stick.
(Why not K550i leh? just like buying w800i 2MP camera phone, n using M2 memory stick, not much improvement lah)
(Why not s500i leh? buy one 2MP camera phone but no auto-focus. for what leh???! so no need to consider liao)
I added RM150 for 1GB M2 memory stick. and 3% of RM150 because I only have just enough cash for the K810i phone. (!@#!@@#$@ !~!@$).
My 3 phones.. SE w800i, SE K810i, SE K310i
My old phone SE w800i, sold for RM350. Still waiting for buyer to
pay me.:P (Can see my K810i ??)
My new phone k810i.

Still learning how to use the phone. I just got it on friday night (6/7/2007). Will tell you more about phone when I can.

Singularity .. multiplicity

When I was younger, (secondary school or primary school lah), I used to think that being single is bad.. ermm.. no offence. I was young wat......

Eventually, when I grew up I find myself getting more and more depressed when I can't find a partner for myself.

So, I think I do understand why certain people prefer to stay single, some are by choice, some have no choice. But, being single is not a bad thing. Though having a companion sometimes can be good.

For those who are single, enjoy your singlehood. For those who are not, enjoy yourself with your other half. Anyways, appreciate your family members before its too late.

100th post!!!

woo hoo!!! I just reached my 100th post!!!. granted, it's a bit slow since I started blogging since 2005. But, any achievement is better than no achievement at all.
Saturday has been rushing here-and-there day. I was called into office again on Friday night. Some problem with PCs running with the production line. I went in around 10pm and left around midnight. Despite of the late hours, I took sometime to drive around the office / plant compound. Checking out the place at night, which feels really good, 'coz there's no traffic at all. Just security guard on duty.

Saturday morning, woke up close to 10am. Went to car insurance company to renew my Kembara's road tax and license with my mom. Rush to Petaling Jaya. Slept for a while , and had lunch in the hospital.... hahah. of all the places, I had lunch in hospital.

I ordered Nasi Goreng Kampung. RM4.00. Not bad at all. Though it could've been , if it was a bit salty. Then again, hospital are places for people get healthy, so no salt?. But, the spiciness is definitely there.

Split the bill or don't split the bill?

I've been notified by my friends about rumours of my "calculative" and stingy ways. One of good examples that I've been stingy is splitting the bill. Basically, I have no memories what kind of wrong I did to that person. But, as far as I know, probably that person's boyfriend or idiotic friends
has a lot to say about it, that the rumour about me being stingy and all that still sticks around, until now.

What do think about being stingy or cheapskate is going out on a date , trying to manipulate your partner telling him/ her to order the cheapest meal . THAT is cheapskate. I don't see what is wrong with splitting the bill.

Let's say you and gal/ guy went out for a first date. Your partner has no obligation to pay for whole bill. Why not split the bill?.. WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH SPLITTING THE BILL?!
YOU THINK YOUR PARTNER IS MADE OUT GOLD ?!... being in a relationship is not about sucking blood from your partner, if it is, then that person should be shot, drown, steamrolled over and chopped into pieces properly counseled.

The reason behind splitting the bill is because both of are working adults. If you don't start with this habit of splitting the bill, then money is definitely going to make a very good argument in your relationship. (I know they are a lot of people who disagree with me on that, but I welcome your flaming comments). It's a courtesy as well.

Hey man, no offense to those who are willing to pay for their partner. Probably they have good reasons to do that, but I'm not going to argue on that today. So, be proud that you're splitting your bill with partner / date / whomever you're going out with for the first few times. Maybe in future dates, it's okay that you pay for your partner once in a while.

That's my 2 cents worth. Now.... I'm waiting for comments.

Updates:
haha... seems like I found out why I couldn't get 2nd dates because I didn't show the courtesy to foot the bill. haha.. okies. My colleagues and trainees also pointed some intresting stuff, the intention to foot the bill shows that a person is a gentleman. In the case of a date, the guy who asked the gal out should foot the bill. If the gal is considerate person, eventually she'll split the bill with the guy as well. Well, good lesson learnt everyday.

Some video of people's mundane lives.

After checking around sweatLee's blog, I then stumbled into took a look at Aud's blog after that Jiameei's.

Then I found this from Jiameei's blog

and this from someone's (by the name of Euhock) youtube

which reminds me of Charise

and this

and this

Makes me wonder. what kind of funny stuff will people posts in youtube

Bayunn

Our gifts in a box.

The gifts.

He joined our company in 16/08/2005.

you know what? fuck it. I don't know what to blog in my blog. So, I'll just type randomly in
my notepad and hoping something will hit me on the head.

You know it's really weird to come to work with thin air sitting beside you when (almost) every
morning, someone will be sitting beside you talking cock with you , sharing stories with you.
When it's gone, it just doesn't feel very normal anymore. Well, everyone is akin as a storybook.
Every story needs to have an ending. This person's story have probably ended with this company.
But, his story with another company have just started.

Anyways, I'm still trying to get used the fact there's no replacement for his position, there's nothing but an empty desk beside me. But, at least the phones are quiet now. Everyday, most of the calls on the extension phone are looking for him. It can be annoying when I want to concentrate on my programming and the calls keep coming in.

so , what's Bayunn?..that's my colleague's online nick. Good luck to him as well a better future in his future company. :)

6th of June 2007

6th of June is not just a significant for Boss Stewie. It is also a significant day for me as well as my company. Because it is my 5th year in my company!!! woo hoo!!.. It is also very significant because this is the first day my company declared holiday for all the STAFFS!!!!!

Actually, for administrative staff, since I'm the IT dept staff, I'm considered administrative staff so holiday for me. The whole thing was actually due to a power plant shutdown in my company. Thus, since there's no power / electricity for the admin building. There's no point going to work also.

and today I watched Pirates of the Caribbean 3!!! because the last few minutes I went toilet, came back , the credits rolling liao... Diiiiiiiiiuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuwwww.... Not a bad movie ,
in fact there's some real humor in it. Spiderman 3?.. I don't remember there's any oso.

Spiderman 3 was just sad sad sad. :(

After movie, bought some gifts for the colleague who is resigning then came back home. rest for a while then went out again for farewell dinner for the same colleague. I tell you ar, so many people left liao. I wonder when is my turn.??... will post photos soon.

Celine yap in newspaper!!!

Celine Yap was spotted in Nanyang newspaper last friday(01/06/2007). I spotted it!! woo hoo...
here's a scanned image of the newspaper clipping.
The story behind:
I sms-ed her ,then she replied asking what was the article about. Since it was too troublesome to sms her and explain everything, I called her instead. Unfortunately, I was met by the groggy voice of Celine.
Celine : "hello...fggdrrhhdd.... dfrlkdkdff"
me : "erm... you sleeping ar?"
Celine : "ggrhh...ddrrgghhh...."
me : "ok I'll call you back later."

the whole conversation almost like that I guessed. sigh... it was 9am... if only I was a student, I would've slept until 10am or even later.. :)

Update:
Celine posted an entry about the article and thanking me. You're welcome. Celine.

Marketing yourself (babbling)

I don't know how to start. But here goes. Ever since we realised we're alive as person, we are starting to do marketing , like it or not. even we don't realise.

What am I talking about ? Think about it in this way. What is marketing about? promoting your services / products. So, what are we promoting when we establish a relationship or

friendship? a sense of trust from others upon us.

When a relationsip works, a guy/gal was taken by the promotion (first impression) of the other half.So the relationsip goes on and on, once the terms(the gal accepts the proposal

from the guy / other conditions) are reached, there will be a merger, almost like in business. (in this case, marriage).

However, it's not always the case, sometimes the guy/gal may not approve the terms or conditions provided by their other half.Example, maybe the guy is a womaniser or the gal

being a excessive spender, etc. Thus, the groundwork provided by the initial marketing strategy didn't work out as planned. So, they broke off. Like a merger disbanded like 光良,品冠 (a Malaysia male singer duo) i'm just taking their working relationship was an example, but not suggesting something else.It may seemed like a bad event to happen. However, this may bring more good than harm.

Think of it this way, when the relationship breaks. Both the guy and gal can reassess their strategies / priorities and market themselves differently.

Enough of babbling, I also don’t know what I’m talking about. :P , I think I’ll talk about computers on relationship.

In my opinion, some people who wanted to get hitch just don’t know how to market themselves, that’s why they still single. But, do correct me if I’m wrong. I welcome your comments.

Posters!!!!!!

During PC Fair trip in KLCC around April 2007, my friend, Warren, wanted to get some posters from Petaling Street after I bought some ink from the fair. Strangely enough, I couldn't find ORIGINAL HP INK in PC FAIR !!!! I don't know about you, but all I saw was some brands other than HP...wtf?!.. ( I was the wrong place, I searched from hall 3- hall 5).. TARAK!!
so anyways, that's how I ended up in front of Low Yat plaza. So, I bought my HP PSC1210 all-in-one printer from HP sales centre in front of Low Yat plaza. Thanks to Warren, we walked from KLCC to the Bukit Nanas monorail station. (very good way to work out, ehh. honest lah.. no lying wan...).

Once we're done, Warren to decided try his luck searching for a poster shop. Since I'm not sure about whether there's such a shop in Sungai Wang area. Finally , after much asking around from 7-Eleven, Guardian, MPH bookshop and etc, we FOUND IT!!!

The Final Fantasy XII poster that I bought.
The Final Fantasy: Advent Children poster The address of Rona Store.
Well, I can't really remember the directions to get there. What I do remember is , it's the same row as sports shop or something. Hopefully I'm not wrong about that. If not, you can always call the number in the receipt that I shown above and ask for directions.

Dinner in Dragon - I

continuing from the The Curve event, after the taking photos with the NTV7 celebrities, we went scouting around The Curve.

Then I bump into my boss, she was queuing up in Sake Sushi. When I met her, she was about to leave.

So, after scouting a while. We finally found a restaurant. Dragon-i.
Masak-masak, and 3 Meals of Goodness the reviewed their 1 utama branch here and here

From Sambal Belacan to Hors d'Oeuvres has a review of The Curve branch here.

Our first dish came. Claypot seafood toofu. Not bad at all. Quite tasty. I like it.

Seafood tofu in claypot. Close-up. Looks yummy right? :P

Then my drink came. My friends ordered chinese tea (i think).

Barley with Lemon.. hahah... strange combination. But, it just taste like Barley with Lemon. No very special , but not bad either. just fine.

Our second order, pork cellar. The cellar tastes really nice, it's quite smooth. It is a must-try when you go to Dragon-I.

Our supposedly last order, spinach with watery eggs. (sorry for the bad translation). This one is just so-so only. By the time,my friends finished with this dish, they also finished their rice.

Since there's no point eat plain rice with gravy, I ordered our final dish with my friends agreeing as well. Tadaaa.... the sweet and sour chicken balls. Again , this dish is quite delicious.

Overall, the food that we had are quite satisfying. I like the food quite much. The seats are nice too. Service is prompt.

Definitely THE place to go when you're looking for good chinese food in The Curve.

"TAK NAK" to screw-ups

A few weeks ago, I accepted a programming task. Thinking I was up to it, so I did it. I was going about slowly, thinking I was able to do it. Along the way, I got some help.FUCK, In the end, I couldn't make it.

It was really a disappointing moment for myself and also my programming partner who passed the job to me.

So, I told him to take the payment since I couldn't make it. Frankly, I don't think that reduce the disappointment of myself to myself.Probably it's my fault that I should have inform him earlier about my "capabilities". At least, there's less damage in the end.

Sigh.

But, in the end, I learned some lessons about programming.I don't think I'll ever stop doing a programming task. But, at least I should get better, and try harder next time.

The Shooter and Urban Live

Watched The Shooter about a week ago. Okay movie , not bad.

The movie , everything quite predictable. not very surprising.

hmmm...

Update:
After the movie, we walked around the Curve for a while. We've noticed that there was this event organised by NTV7. Coool..

There were a lot of NTV7 celebrities, eg. Daphne Iking, Naz, Sheahnee, n erm.. some other celebrities that I can't remember the name.

:P

Thanks to my friend's great idea (no, seriously I should thank him for this). We get to take photos with Daphne Iking, Naz, Sheahnee and brag blog about it in this blog.

Here's the photo taken with Sheahnee, Jazarel(my friend), Naz, Daphne Iking, myself , Warren (my friend).

Updates:
Sheahnee was quite friendly, so are Naz and Daphne too. I like Sheahnee's accent (if she has any).

While we're in the event, I caught a glimpse of Josh Lim (the man behind RedesignMalaysia.com, a website that strives to improve the broadband access in Malaysia.)He was bidding furiously with this lady who is in red (don't know what's her name) on this
"Breakfast show" mug.But , all this is for the cause of a charity. In the end, the lady won the auction with the mug auctioned up to RM200 or somewhere around that value.
Josh bid for the next item instead, the shirt that has all the signatures of "Breakfast show" celebrities. Unfortunately, there was no auction craze like the mug. (so potong steam)

The not-so-clear photo of Josh Lim. The guy who is wearing the dark grey shirt with the bag strapped on his right arm.

Blogging in reverse...

Has blogging become so boring, so mundane, that you've not motivated to blog anymore?

That's what I'm feeling now.

Wednesday, April 18, 2007

Whoever invented standby?

Whomever invented the phrase on standby should be shot dead, beaten up into a pulp, or rolled over by a steam roller.

bahh...

of all the times to receive a call from office, i got called at 12am in the morning. yeah man.. just nice.. people... very nice of you to ruin my beauty sleep.

When I slept late every night , there's no call. When I sleep earlier, some fucker
"make love person" called in the middle of the morning to ask me to solve a problem. Yeah man.. thank you very much..

Next time I would just tell him to go fuck "make love" to himself / herself.

Update:
I worked from 2am to 7am the day I went on-call. Since it's 4 hours working AFTER working hours, I called verified with HR and I'm granted a day off. Woo yeah... Got back home around 7.20am (while struggling with tiredness to get back home in 1 piece).

Hopefully, my boss agrees with day-off grant.

Update :
Thank God, he did. It was supposed to half-day leave. But, I made a mistake and thought it was full-day leave. Well, whatever.

The way around a stupid move

You know once a in while, you make a stupid move because you listened to a friend. It's okay to do so sometimes. Sometimes you wonder is it worth it do so.

How costly are these mistakes? at the costs of losing another someone / friendship / relationship?
at the costs of losing money?

there are some things money can't buy. for everything else , there's Mastercard.

Well, just make sure you don't make the same mistake(s) again.

Porridge Steamboat (Farewell dinner)

Near the end of March, we had another colleague who went the company. yeah. I know there has been very high turnover in a tiny department of 7 persons. But, that's the way life is over here. Anyways, since we already quite tired of going to normal restaurants for farewell dinner.
So one of us suggested for this steamboat restaurant.
Nice soup base. the porridge, yum . It's actually quite thin , almost like normal soup (contrary to what most people think that porridge steamboat will end up being burnt and all that).
The steamboat with the cover on.

Our first dish while waiting the food to heat up. Fresh lala.. Ooh yeah... so fresh, and juicy.

The food that we put into steamboat. Got fried beancurd, pork , meatballs, mushroom and shrimps of course.
The steamed food.. ooh yeah...

Fried beancurd. Not as good as the one I had in Sungai Besar, but when you dip into the porridge soup . It tastes quite nice as well. Overall, we had a great dinner and fun time.
Where is it located? No. 71, Lrg. Bt. Nilam 4, Bandar Bukit Tinggi, 41200 Klang, Selangor. Call Stacey Gam at 016-311 7798 for more info. The shop's name is Restoran Steamboat Delight,

Good night.

Updates : This is damaged car after the spare tyre removed. Thank God I still survived.

I've updated the photos on my tech blog. Meanwhile here are some photos of me taken with my mom, my buddy and also my colleague.

Here's a photo of my buddy who works in Smart Malaysia.
His name is Teow Yew Aun, Teleport Business Manager for Smart Broadband Satellite Sdn. Bhd.

Toasted!!!

This morning, while I was toasting bread, something strange happened. Suddenly , an elephant ran into my house. There were fire sparks inside the toaster while lowered the bread into toasting position. Then, it tripped the whole house's power circuit. So , I reset the power breaker switch and tried again. Yeah I know, it's just my programmer's habit (if doesn't work, try again). Again, there were sparks coming out .

Hmmmmm.. this doesn't seem to be right. Have you ever seen a toaster that spits out sparks when toasting a bread?. (This is definitely a first for me). Since I was rushing for work, I just warmed the bread with microwave oven instead and leave the poor toaster alone

Once I got home from work, I took the toaster and try again. (yea.. I'm very curious fella). Seeing that there's fire sparks again, I quickly press the eject button. Then I shone the torchlight into it.

Tadaa.... Here's what I found.
A dead lizard stuck in the toaster.
Nope it's not a pretty sight. Its eyes remind me of Ghost Rider's (insert appropriate name) stare.
Here's another photo for the poor lizard after taken out of the toaster.Lizard, R.I.P.

Lesson of the day:
The warmest place ain't the safest place.

The choice to make things better

When given a choice to do something better in the past, some of us would like to given a second chance.

I'm one of them.

If only there's such an opportunity to do so, sigh.

Second Chances.

A casual date

Finally , I get to go on a date with a person that I wanted to date for a long time. (yah I know it's long winded). But, it's a blog right? So, I get to blog what I want as long it doesn't hurt people's feelings.

Anyways, it has been like 2 years ago that we had a decent conversation. Although we did meet recently, unfortunately it wasn't very suitable to chat. I had always been wanting to date her for some time, imagine the excitement when she said she has no transport. I thought "Wee...." , more time to talk (when she's in my car).

Before I sound like an overexcited kid, the date started like this. I picked up my car from office, drove from office to Petaling Jaya. Then, I drove to her office. Although it's the first time I've been there, it wasn't really hard to find either. In order NOT to get lost and asking her give the directions to get there. I took the time to find out the place with Google Maps . It was indeed helpful. I was supposed to pick her up at 7pm. But, I only late around 10 minutes. (ehh... u know PJ is famous of traffic jam wat...).

Of course , there was another problem. I don't remember how she look like. Fortunately, luck is on my side. It wasn't hard to spot her. So, off we go for 1Utama for dinner.

Initially, I was thinking of Sushi King 1Utama then I thought I don't know where is it. I'm not gonna stress myself looking for it. So, we decided to go for Italiannies 1utama. I've been there a couple of times and their service is good. Food's good too.

"A picture is a worth a thousand words" . Here's some picture of what we had on thursday night.
Complimentary bread from Italiannies. According to a fellow friend, it's called baguette.

Lime-ade which I ordered, my "date" ordered warm water.

The first dish that we had , Fried Calamari (sotong) for 2 and small bowl of sauce.
The generous amount of sauce they gave us when we asked for more sauce.
Finally, the Chicken Fettucine that we ordered.

Here comes the awkward part of the dinner. As funny as it sounds, we couldn't finish the food although we only ordered 2 dishes. The Fried Calamari was for two. The Chicken Fettucine doesn't seem like a lot during first impression. In the end, we decided to take away the leftovers. She took the leftovers home because I don't think it'll taste very good when I get back home. Since she had an appointment after the dinner , I sent her home.

That's a good start on dating. I hope I can do more dating in the future. ya man.. date more chicks gal.

It's 3.40am in the morning

It's 3.40am in the morning. Yea I know I supposed to sleeping now. But I can't , actually wanted to blog.

haha..

Well, important news 1st. My cousin bro is married !!! Okay lah, I attended his wedding dinner on friday night (24/02/2007) in Mentakab, Pahang. I went for an early nap. Then I woke up by my dad at 1.26am and guess what? It's time for "tea serving/drinking" ceremony.

Well, wtf?! was my first reaction. That's a first for me to have such a ceremony at this time of the day. For the uninitiated, the "tea serving" ceremony is usually done in the morning. It's usually done near the end of the wedding ceremony. Some of the event prior to the "tea serving" are the "door ramming" ceremony which involves the bridegroom fulfilling mundane requests from the bride's side eg. singing, saying I love you in various languages, generally to make a fool out of the bridegroom and his best men ( in a fun loving way). and also some other traditions which I'll leave it for another time.

Anyways, it was a great wedding as there were no raining / thunderstorm involved. (no offence to the previous wedding I attended :P ) All was peaceful, though the bride's father shook my hand 3 times and claims that he's sober slightly weird at times. The wedding ended around 10pm which is considered quite okay. ( I been through wedding dinner which were even worse, started late, ended late , abt. 11pm++ on sunday night). I'm just glad it ended at the right time.

On another note, I finally took the time to reconfigure my phone to receive MMS and surf net via GPRS. I'm glad I did. Woo hoo!! Now i can receive MMS, and also surf net with Opera Mini.

Okies lah. I know no big deal for some lah. But, I just want to brag about learning something new.

The journey home and reunion dinner

As usual, we drove from home all the way to Mentakab, Pahang for celebrate Chinese New Year eve with our grandparents.

But, this year it was slightly different. This year we get to stuck in numerous jams while heading towards Genting, heading towards Bukit Tinggi and myself getting really nervous when the next petrol station is so far away, that I thought I gonna pee in my pants.

So, as we're about less than 5 minutes to the Genting tunnel, we're hit by a jam which probably took up to 10 minutes or so , to reach the Genting.

But ,the story doesn't ends here. After the tunnel, there was still jam. I was wondering why was the big jam. Then , my question is answered.

Turns out there were some police gathering at the top of slope after Genting tunnel, they were just standing there and not doing anything also, the motorists just slowed down. Are Malaysians kay poh chi, or they just scared of cops?

After that, there were still minor jams here and there. But, it was much better than before Genting jam.

Finally, I have reached Pahang safely. We had steamboat for reunion dinner. Though the choices might not be a lot, but the great portions has certainly filled a big space in my tummy.

Here are some the ingredients for steamboat dinner.
We have the coriander, bean curd, bee hoon, eggs, chicken meat, pig intestines and fish bladder.
There are also 2 different soups, clear soup and "Sze Chuan" spicy soup. Both of them taste quite nice too. But, the spicy soup did taste quite salty in the end, so I just mixed with clear soup to wash away the saltiness.

It's a great dinner. I hope that I can do this more often with my family and friends in the coming future.

Happy CNy !

Happy Chinese New Year to everyone and have a prosperous New Year!!

Must :
1) Eat (but in moderation)
2) Gamble (but in moderation)
3) Sleep (not in moderation)

:P

Meeting a "friendster" and food posts

Last sunday(11/02/2007), before heading to The Curve to meet up with a "friendster", my mom "ta pao"ed some Hakka noodles, from 金華美食中心 in SS20 as breakfast. Although there wasn't really much stuff in it, (there were some fish cakes, foo chook(??) in it) but the delicious taste of the noodles makes up to it.(From my experience, Hakka Noodles usually mixed with minced pork not fish cake and foo chook) .The noodles' texture was quite smooth as well. So tasty, you really liked to have a second serving. It is also much thinner than the usual Hakka noodles. Since a picture is worth a million words, here's a photo of the Hakka noodles.

After breakfast, my friend Warren picked me up and we went to The Curve to catch the movie "The Holiday". Actually , I went to The Curve to meet up a friend which I met from friendster. We didn't have much time to talk because the movie starts at 11.20am, it was already 11.08 or 11.10am when we met my friend. So we just walked around Cineleisure building and kill time. We walked for a while then it's about 11.20am so we waved good bye and we went our merry ways. Here's a photo of the friend I met.
Thank you Warren for holding the camera.

yea lah, that's me on the left, the friend Zenneo on the right
"The Holiday" can be summarized in 3 words, simple and nice. It's not a "tough" movie like "The Prestige" which needs you to be observant and all that. It's a very nice feel good movie for people who are searching for love , and definitely must watch for couples. After the movie, we had lunch at "Kopi Oh : The Kopitiam with a new Kick" which is on Cineleisure Ground floor. The staff were indeed attentive, between for 3-4 minutes we were standing outside looking at the menu, 2 of their waiters attended to us. When the first waiter, I just said we're looking around, since we're not sure what to eat. Once we confirmed we're having lunch there, the second waiter showed us where to queue. We queued and ordered 2 signature rice , Warren ordered the Hot & Sour rice , while I ordered Fragrant and Sweet rice. As for drinks, I ordered Cincau and Warren ordered Teh Ice. (yea I know nothing really special.) The rice dish costs RM7.90 each, and the drinks were not included in the bill because the total bill only came back RM15.80 = RM7.90 x 2. Hmmmm. Anyways, let's talk about the food. The rice are quite nice. The meat and veggie that came with are in generous proportions , in fact more than the rice. In my opinion, which is a good thing. I mean what's the point having lots of rice but a little meat right? The sauce that came with it was good too. The fragrant rice is served with chicken meat, brocolli and some veggie (which I don't know what it's called). The rice smells great and the sauce taste great too. I didn't get to sample a lot of Hot & Sour, but the sauce taste just as good as the Fragrant and Sweet Rice. Here's some photo again.

Overall, I'll give the restaurant 2 thumbs-up for good service and good food. After lunch, we went home immediately because I got errands to run. Overall, it was great day , and I'm glad that we (Warren and me) had talked quite a lot.
