It's 3.40am in the morning

It's 3.40am in the morning. Yea I know I supposed to sleeping now. But I can't , actually wanted to blog.

haha..

Well, important news 1st. My cousin bro is married !!! Okay lah, I attended his wedding dinner on friday night (24/02/2007) in Mentakab, Pahang. I went for an early nap. Then I woke up by my dad at 1.26am and guess what? It's time for "tea serving/drinking" ceremony.

Well, wtf?! was my first reaction. That's a first for me to have such a ceremony at this time of the day. For the uninitiated, the "tea serving" ceremony is usually done in the morning. It's usually done near the end of the wedding ceremony. Some of the event prior to the "tea serving" are the "door ramming" ceremony which involves the bridegroom fulfilling mundane requests from the bride's side eg. singing, saying I love you in various languages, generally to make a fool out of the bridegroom and his best men ( in a fun loving way). and also some other traditions which I'll leave it for another time.

Anyways, it was a great wedding as there were no raining / thunderstorm involved. (no offence to the previous wedding I attended :P ) All was peaceful, though the bride's father shook my hand 3 times and claims that he's sober slightly weird at times. The wedding ended around 10pm which is considered quite okay. ( I been through wedding dinner which were even worse, started late, ended late , abt. 11pm++ on sunday night). I'm just glad it ended at the right time.

On another note, I finally took the time to reconfigure my phone to receive MMS and surf net via GPRS. I'm glad I did. Woo hoo!! Now i can receive MMS, and also surf net with Opera Mini.

Okies lah. I know no big deal for some lah. But, I just want to brag about learning something new.

The journey home and reunion dinner

As usual, we drove from home all the way to Mentakab, Pahang for celebrate Chinese New Year eve with our grandparents.

But, this year it was slightly different. This year we get to stuck in numerous jams while heading towards Genting, heading towards Bukit Tinggi and myself getting really nervous when the next petrol station is so far away, that I thought I gonna pee in my pants.

So, as we're about less than 5 minutes to the Genting tunnel, we're hit by a jam which probably took up to 10 minutes or so , to reach the Genting.

But ,the story doesn't ends here. After the tunnel, there was still jam. I was wondering why was the big jam. Then , my question is answered.

Turns out there were some police gathering at the top of slope after Genting tunnel, they were just standing there and not doing anything also, the motorists just slowed down. Are Malaysians kay poh chi, or they just scared of cops?

After that, there were still minor jams here and there. But, it was much better than before Genting jam.

Finally, I have reached Pahang safely. We had steamboat for reunion dinner. Though the choices might not be a lot, but the great portions has certainly filled a big space in my tummy.

Here are some the ingredients for steamboat dinner.
We have the coriander, bean curd, bee hoon, eggs, chicken meat, pig intestines and fish bladder.
There are also 2 different soups, clear soup and "Sze Chuan" spicy soup. Both of them taste quite nice too. But, the spicy soup did taste quite salty in the end, so I just mixed with clear soup to wash away the saltiness.

It's a great dinner. I hope that I can do this more often with my family and friends in the coming future.

Happy CNy !

Happy Chinese New Year to everyone and have a prosperous New Year!!

Must :
1) Eat (but in moderation)
2) Gamble (but in moderation)
3) Sleep (not in moderation)

:P

Meeting a "friendster" and food posts

Last sunday(11/02/2007), before heading to The Curve to meet up with a "friendster", my mom "ta pao"ed some Hakka noodles, from 金華美食中心 in SS20 as breakfast. Although there wasn't really much stuff in it, (there were some fish cakes, foo chook(??) in it) but the delicious taste of the noodles makes up to it.(From my experience, Hakka Noodles usually mixed with minced pork not fish cake and foo chook) .The noodles' texture was quite smooth as well. So tasty, you really liked to have a second serving. It is also much thinner than the usual Hakka noodles. Since a picture is worth a million words, here's a photo of the Hakka noodles.

After breakfast, my friend Warren picked me up and we went to The Curve to catch the movie "The Holiday". Actually , I went to The Curve to meet up a friend which I met from friendster. We didn't have much time to talk because the movie starts at 11.20am, it was already 11.08 or 11.10am when we met my friend. So we just walked around Cineleisure building and kill time. We walked for a while then it's about 11.20am so we waved good bye and we went our merry ways. Here's a photo of the friend I met.
Thank you Warren for holding the camera.

yea lah, that's me on the left, the friend Zenneo on the right
"The Holiday" can be summarized in 3 words, simple and nice. It's not a "tough" movie like "The Prestige" which needs you to be observant and all that. It's a very nice feel good movie for people who are searching for love , and definitely must watch for couples. After the movie, we had lunch at "Kopi Oh : The Kopitiam with a new Kick" which is on Cineleisure Ground floor. The staff were indeed attentive, between for 3-4 minutes we were standing outside looking at the menu, 2 of their waiters attended to us. When the first waiter, I just said we're looking around, since we're not sure what to eat. Once we confirmed we're having lunch there, the second waiter showed us where to queue. We queued and ordered 2 signature rice , Warren ordered the Hot & Sour rice , while I ordered Fragrant and Sweet rice. As for drinks, I ordered Cincau and Warren ordered Teh Ice. (yea I know nothing really special.) The rice dish costs RM7.90 each, and the drinks were not included in the bill because the total bill only came back RM15.80 = RM7.90 x 2. Hmmmm. Anyways, let's talk about the food. The rice are quite nice. The meat and veggie that came with are in generous proportions , in fact more than the rice. In my opinion, which is a good thing. I mean what's the point having lots of rice but a little meat right? The sauce that came with it was good too. The fragrant rice is served with chicken meat, brocolli and some veggie (which I don't know what it's called). The rice smells great and the sauce taste great too. I didn't get to sample a lot of Hot & Sour, but the sauce taste just as good as the Fragrant and Sweet Rice. Here's some photo again.

Overall, I'll give the restaurant 2 thumbs-up for good service and good food. After lunch, we went home immediately because I got errands to run. Overall, it was great day , and I'm glad that we (Warren and me) had talked quite a lot.

It's V'day!

It's Valentine's day and time for the singles to feel miserably happy for themselves and the couples to feel fortunate and unhappy getting attached to their miserably "useful" other half.

Update:
Even the game Eve-Online wishes its fellow subscribers a happy Valentine's as well.

B'day lunch (sorry lah.. dinner can't make it ...mah lunch loh)

Since my colleague can't make it for a b'day dinner, we(colleagues and me) had to changed our plans to a b'day lunch instead. We had it lunch in Dengkil Seafood Restaurant. We had lunch and dinner there numerous times. Generally, we are quite satisfied the quality of the food that we won't mind coming again.
1st Dish: Lemonade Chicken, tastes quite nice.

1st, 2nd and 3rd Dish: Starting clockwise, Teppanyaki tofu, Lemonade chicken and veggie(forgot what veggie). The tofu is quite good but I didn't get to eat a lot and veggie so-so only.

4th dish, Assam fish, according to others, it tastes good, for me I find that the fish would've tasted even better if the assam flavour has thoroughly seeped into the fish.

Overall, still an okay meal which costs us abt RM100++ for 9 persons. Will go the restaurant again in future because the service is quite good.

This coming friday there'll be a company dinner (WOOO YEAH. !! FOOD) and fortunately came at right time. hehe..

Monday: I woke up at 8am , which is actually the time I should have taken my breakfast, took my bath and get ready to go work. So, I end up stuffing my breakfast into tupperware, no bath, drove straight to work. :(

looks like a very short dream, but it took some time to type in mandarin with pinyin method. Probably it's time to get my life sorted out.
