H1N1 is closer than I thought

I was informed by my colleague, whose younger brother that is studying in Jerantut, Pahang, that his school has been suspected to have H1N1 infection due to high number of cases of cold, coughs. But the school was slow to react, as time of this blog post, her brother has been having fever for 2 days. But all the school did for her brother was asked her parents to pick them up from the school and took no action to send him to the nearby hospital and was awaiting instructions from the ministry. WTF!!!!!!!

talk about H1N1 prevention. with that kind of attitude, I don't see why H1N1 can be under controlled. But, ever since I've known about this. I never thought the H1N1 influenza can be close to us. We must heed our government's call to take necessary actions to prevent the spread of this influenza.

My CAT R.I.P ， Ice Age 3

Just 2 weeks ago. on a monday morning. My cat died.I didn't feel good about it because I should've noticed something was wrong with the cat 2 days before she died. She was sitting around not moving a lot. She wasn't eating too when I fed her. I thought I'll send her to check-up on the morning. When I checked on her before I go to work, she was lying there motionless. A slight nudge, she didn't respond. She was dead.I felt bad about it.


On different note, I went to watch Ice Age 3 in MINES on sunday.

It was okay. It has its moments. I don't know why but recently most movies that I've watched are just. OKAY. everything is OKAY. just FINE. I don't feel like . WHOAH. WOW.. I won't be talking about it on and on. Recently, there wasn't really any movie that made me go excited, everything just so seem like "been there done that", "big deal". Anyways, I think it's an entertaining watch.It's a movie suitable for the whole family.

After movie, we went for dinner. I thought since I haven't eaten Sushi King for some time. I'll stop by the Sushi King MINES.We (my gf , her sister and myself) ate a little then we scout for another restaurant. Then , after much scouting, we finally decided to have our meal in 欢喜地。

Putrajaya Dragon boat festival. part (II)

Since I told you I was going to tell you about the Singaporeans story in Putrajaya Dragonboat festival, here it is.

In the midst of the competition, we were standing quite near the (pier/jetty？), all of sudden, there was this bunch of Singaporeans throwing their female teammates into the water.

Then it was followed by another, by another and another.

Here are the results.



Don't know what's wrong with these Singaporeans.

Update: Those in red t-shirts and black short pants are the so called crazy Singaporeans, yea the little girl in pink is one of them as well. :P

Putrajaya Dragon boat festival. what a load of crap

After passing by Putrajaya while on the way to MINES one day, I noticed there were number of banners hanged around the light poles stating that there's a Dragon boat festival held in Precint 6 of Putrajaya. Once I reached home from MINES, I started checking out the Internet and calling my friends to see whether they are interested to attend the event.

So, the date was set, arrangements were made. Since most of us were quite busy, so we only we could make it to attend the Dragonboat festival final day which was sunday (06/06/2009). But once we reached there, looking at how quiet the place was, I was starting to doubt whether this event was going to dissappointing event (since this the first Dragonboat festival in Putrajaya).

While on the way close to the venue like (500-600Ms), there were indeed some banners of the festival here and there, which is good sign I'm at the right place. But the strange thing is, the sign to the public parking was so small, you probably notice when you're about 10-20 metres to the sign.The fonts were so small, you swear probably putting "PUBLIC PARKING" sign was the last thing on some idiot's mind. Of course, it wasn't hard to spot the parking when you're about 100-200 metres, when you can see all the cars lined up neatly near the entrance to the Dragonboat festival.BUT STILL, MAKE IT BIG AND DAMN CLEAR FOR THE VISITORS!!!!

Thank goodness, the parking was surfaced with stones instead of the sand (compared to the poorly maintained oil palm car park in F1 circuit, will talk about it another time.) Even if it rains, it wouldn't cause much of a problem for people to walk to their cars either.So, there's a plus.

Now, we reached the venue for Dragon boat festival. We've walked around and checked out some of the booths they have, (there are TouchNGo booths, Spastic Children Association (can't really remember) booths, food booths). Then we reached the Water Sports Complex when you get sit on a proper chair to watch the event.

We've waited around for 15 minutes or so. But the event still haven't start, it was probably around 3.30pm? We walked more and check out other booths, we saw booths selling burgers, kueh, kuew teoh,kebabs,KFC,Pizza hut, Rasamas and etc. We also found out there's small "beach" in front the Pullman Putrajaya hotel Lakeside located not far from the Dragonboat festival venue. Then finally , the race started. The boats did line up at the starting grid (is that the proper word?). But instead of starting together, they queue up and start in sequence.Seriously, give me a break.

WHAT KIND OF STUPID RACE IS THIS when each teams starts in sequence? WHERE DID THE ORGANISERS PUT THEIR BRAIN? IS THIS EXCITING TO WATCH?! I'll show what's a PROPER RACE.
The quality is no good, but this is what I call a proper RACE. DAMN IT!

FOR THIS, I have give 2 thumbs-down for Putrajaya Dragonboat festival. Even the starting grid has no banner hanging on top STATING "START / END", hello?!.. can I at least know where is the starting line?!

At the end of the day, watching Singaporeans throwing their teammates into the water is more exciting to watch than the Dragon boat festival itself. (more of this later).

Update: It seems I've checked a few websites / forums, the races do start with teams racing in parallel. But I don't understand why the last day, this format has changed and all the teams are racing in sequence.

why so serious?...........

I totally at lost when I watched the recent Phua Chu Kang Sdn. Bhd. series. This is the first time Phua Chu Kang is shot behind Malaysia background. But, somehow when they moved from Singapore , they also left behind the funny things that make Phua Chu Kang good in the first place.One of them being the supporting casts of Phua Chu Kang, namely Phua Chu Beng, Margaret and their lovely-son, which I can't spell his name right. Come to think of it, it's actually the supporting casts that makes the soul of the show. NOT JUST PHUA CHU KANG HIMSELF!!

The new Phua Chu Kang Sdn. Bhd. is like trying so hard to be funny yet it's not funny at all. Harith Iskandar is LAME, LAME, LAME. He's trying so hard that it's not funny at all. I'd rather have Phua Chu Kang Sdn. Bhd. production team to went with relatively unpopular casts and make them popular through the tv show. Gamuda (Housing Developer) and Super Power (powdered beverage company) thought it would be great to sponsor this show, and will bombard audiences non-stop with their advertisement. Seriously, I don't remember having to suffer going thru repetitious advertisements during the half hour show.

However, what comes after Phua Chu Kang Sdn. Bhd. really impressed me. I have a good feel about Mr Siao's Mandarin class.Correct if I'm wrong, I don't feel having been bothered about being bombarded with ads and ads and ads. Mr Siao's Mandarin class comes across quite natural, I don't find it so "robotic" compared to Phua Chu Kang Sdn. Bhd. With a casts of chinese, indians and malay, it's much more "muhibbah" than Phua Chu Kang Sdn. Bhd.

I think what Phua Chu Kang Sdn. Bhd. producers should've done is end the series as soon as possible but with a proper ending. At least , when people think about Phua Chu Kang , they don't remember the dreadful Phua Chu Kang Sdn. Bhd.

I don't know why I don't see any bloggers sharing the same opinion with me about how "sucky" Phua Chu Kang Sdn. Bhd. is.

I had a car accident (again)

It just so happen one day after my birthday I had my car accident. The accident happened at a roundabout. I have no intention to elaborate about this accident.

Right on the same day, we have one of the "best" restaurant service in Nilai. The service was bad.They even forgot about the fish in the "loh yee sang". Then the dishes came so slow at first then it was really fast then they forgot one dish. AIYO!!!!!! WHAT KIND OF RESTAURANT IS THIS?!

anyway, that's all for now.

My birthday coming soon

In a few more hours, it'll be 22nd of January. Yes.. wa's birthday!! YAY!!!!
